Default ignition switch

I'm trying to pull my ignition to change out my ignition switch, my mechanic said that there is a button(brass) on the column to push and it will release the ignition cylinder, where is that darn button, I have the key in the number 2 position but still unable to find, do I have to remove the column cover to find it?If so how? Are there screws holding the horn cover in place? Please help I have half of the drivers side dash apart and will be driving tomorrow without a speedometer. Thank you for taking the time to read my problem.

Smile Found it.

Well thanks to all that read my post, I found the little button I was looking for, and for all of you may be in my position in the future, here where it is. If you were down the ignition shaft that goes into the ignition holder, the button is at approx. 7:00. The key has to be in the number 2 position, and it will come right out. AMEN!!!!!!!!!!
