idle adjust, tranny, 75 300d
where do i get a new idle adjust cable and is it neccesasary, also does anyone have any idea what to look out for? and jeez sorry,,, but my transmission wont engage unless i let the car warm up for about 30 minuits

The idle cable is in reality a cold start idle up cable. Turning it counterclock wise prior to starting in cold weather enables the engine to run faster and warm up quicker. Here on the left coast I very seldom use mine. If I do use it, its for a slightly higher curb idle with the A/C on. In areas that see snow and sub zero temps then the cable is a nice addition to help start it. Regarding the trans, change the trans filter and all the fluid. The torque converter is drainable unlike other cars. DO NOT have it flushed. Can cause particle contamination on any older car. Uses common DEXTRON fluid.
