i cant understand it fuel gauge probs c320 2001
hello there, can anyone help me.? I have a 2001 C320 avant-garde I have recently had the fuel pump,& sender unit replaced (at a great cost may i add) but now i have another problem , being my fuel gauge is not working properly, it has gone back to my mac twice so far, i have filled the tank up, that did not work: it seems like the gauge reads backwards a full tank reads just above the red then the more petrol i use the gauge goes up, also the computer has a false reading this seems mad, i do not think my mac has any idea what to do. have you ever heard of this before?

There is specific coding for fuel level senders. I can't remember if the coding is stored in the rear sam, or the instrument cluster, or both. Mercedes changed the type of sensors used to measure fuel level. If this coding is not correct the corresponding control module will not know how to interpret the signal from the fuel level sensors.
