HOW DO REPLACE AIR FILTER ON SLK320
HI. I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO APPROACH THE AIR FILTER(S) FOR MY SLK320 (2001). I JUST TURNED 30,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND WOULD LIKE TO CHECK THEM OR IT, AND SEE IF THEY NEED REPLACING, BUT I CAN'T FOR THE LIFE OF ME FIGURE OUT HOW TO LOCATE THEM OR EVEN HOW TO REMOVE THE BIG BLACK PLASTIC ENGINE COVER. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
GO SLKS!!!!!!!!!!
THANKS....

RE: HOW DO REPLACE AIR FILTER ON SLK320
Hi,
Just "jerk" the big black cover upwards applying pressure firmly at the edges of the cover. No screws or other fixings but you need to disconnect to two air inlet tubes to the black box by compressing the concertina in the inlet tube.
The filters are inside this big black cover.
You can see how dirty the filters are by looking up the holes where the concertina tube connects.
Hopoe this helps,
Stuart.
