help wtih Timing Chain Replacement Criteria
Hi
Can any one please let me know as to what is the criteria for replacing timing chain on MB? Some one was telling me that since they are chain, one would not mess with it (especially with older cars) and did not recommend me changing it. My other friend has a 25 year old car and informed me that he too would not change the timing chain on the old car till it broke.
I am pathetic when it comes to mechanical aspects of cars.
I have a 1991 MB SEL with 186,000 miles and do not have service records if it was ever done or not.
