I posted awhile ago no response. maybe no one knows the answer. I will try again. i have 190 e 2.6 and have been expericing some tech difficulties. Evet day my car starts drive to work...No problem however if I drive my car at lunch ot in the eve during the summer I will watch the temp gage go up and suddenly my car will just die. I let it cool down open the hood wait a few minutes try to start it and it starts. I cannot drive in traffic because I know it will stall. Any of you experts suggest what the problem might be and what to do to fix it??4 mechanics have not fiqured it out.

It may help to get ideas coming at you if you would state what 4 mechanics tried already...thermostat, pressure cap, belts, coolant flush, any lights on the dash when overheating, etc?

Bob I am not much of a mechanic I did have my coolant pump replaced didnt fix it but one thing i have noticedis My 2 fans don't seem to turn and i think what happens is that when i drive the engine is naturally cooled off but do these cars have a sensor or themostat that if the engine reaches a certain temp under the hood it automatically shuts off. I appreciate your response and HELP!

There is a temp sensor switch screwed onto the block that activates a relay at a specified coolant temp.
This relay switched on the electric cooling fans.
The sensor should be near the thermostat housing (I am not sure exactly where for your model).
It carries a single wire which is earthed by the sensor at the specified temp.
To test the sensor, remove the wire and earth it directly by making contact with body metal parts.
If the fans are switched on, the sensor switch needs to be replaced.
If the fans do not come on, then either the relay or the wiring to the fans need to be checked.
