Default Help, Pls..

Admittedly new to owning a diesel. She is a 87 300TD, 250k . Car was bogging down badly, no power etc. Changed the primary and secondary fuel filters, ran like a dream....for 4 days. 4th day, cuts out on me going 50mph. Cranked and cranked, added some diesl, she fired up. Added more diesel. On the second day, glow plug light goes out, but she starts up. couple days after, car dies --at home, thankfully. Crank , crank, wont start..wear the battery down and starter over heating. Yesterday, we charge the battery, but first put in a glow plug relay. Light goes on, car cranks, but wont start.

3-4 things worth mentioning, i think. 1)glow plug light is on longer than before. 2) We loosened the injectors but little to no diesel coming out. 3)We did not clean the 3rd filter, the strainer at the fuel tank. Could this be the issue? Is there a relay for the injector pump that cld be bad????? If the glow plugs were bad, car would have shown other symptoms, no???

Many thanks to anyone w insight

Sorry, I wrote that thread in a hurry. The gist is it wont start, and there is no diesel spraying out of the injectors when i crank the motor. Do I need to always have at least a 1/4 tank of fuel in the car?
