I am useing a mercedes STAR (BASIC) at work.

I have just started updateing the ME control unit with the SDflashing software.

The prob is i can update the control unit o.k BUT i need to put in a SCN codeing number before the car will run right. I do not have the FDOK at work nor can i go online and get it that way. I think if i had the STAR COMPACT 3 i could go online and get it, (is this true).

So is the only way round it to go to a MB Dealer and ask for the SCN code or is there a nother way i could do it on my own.

so tell me how can you get inside the FDOK if you have the star compact 3...? what would be your login and password?

what i do is give them the VIN, object number for software and check digit.

whenever i have access to FDOK, i just poll the coding string, SCN, and test digit on screen 4311.

 

I have star diagnosis on my ibm laptop with serial multiplexer.
How can I resolve the scn coding when needed?
Could u help me sleepwalker?
