Just bought a 300D Turbo 82, in excellent condition with 152000 miles, I have never purchased a merdedes and am wondering if I got a good deal? The price depends on the condition of the car. A friend of mine bought an '83 300D tubodiesel for about $1500. But he works on Benz and it had quite a few little things wrong with it. It was badly in need of a maintenence and valve adjust. It's a work in progress.
If the car you got doesn't need any work and the body and paint is in great shape then that's not a bad price.
