Default Help

Hi all i am new here and i have a question regarding my 1984 300SD turbo diesel mercedes. The hood release cable broke on me and i cannot open the hood, which means that i can't even replace the cable! Is there any way to open the hood with out the hood release or am i in deep trouble here? Thanks to anyone that can help.

Reach in through the grill and grab the tab with some long jawed needle nose pliers. Pull.

Thanks for the reply. Well there are 2 releases, one on each side of the grill, and i don't think that i can reach either one through the grill but ill give it a try. Or did you mean the release cable?

i cannot reach the cable release through the grill. Should i try pulling from inside the car. Should i take apart the handle inside of the car and pull on the cable itself and see if i can get it to open? Im running out of ideas and getting scared that there is no way to open the hood.
