I have a 1984 380SL which runs great most of the time. On occasion after you shut it off the car just will not start. I have replaced the fuel pump and fuel pump relay. The car has new plug wires, cap , and rotor. If you let the car sit for a while it starts fine again. I need some advice as to what to do to fix this annoying problem.

 

did you check for leaky fuel injectors?

check the resistance of the crankshaft position sensor whenever the problem is present. (800-1200 ohm).
