Gas Recommendation

RE: Gas Recommendation
As long as it is 91 Octane minimum, I think it is a matter of personal preference. I typically run Mobil or Exxon, sometimes Sunoco. A couple of times I have used an off brand with no problem. It pretty much all comes from the same supply unless you use Citgo. Each brand has it's own combination of additives.

RE: Gas Recommendation
For what its worth. I've had a 250SL since 71, (mechanical injection) a couple of 280 sels. The 250 has one of those motors in it now, a 380, 420up to my current 560SEL. I always use what ever is the cheapest. Used to be Becon but not its often ARCO. In CA gas formula is regulated and pumped through the same supply pipes. Don't count on much difference. I really don't care what gas I run. I just don't want to pay extra foradvertisinghype. We used to call it FUD: create fear, uncertainty and doubt in customers heads about the competition.I also like tomeasure it. Or really feel a change.
Just my experience; I have tried many gasses at times and have never found any difference in performance, never, ever, not a bit.I don't do 0-60's full throttle everyday, but I dodrop it down into passing doing 80 frequently. Can't wait to get a 03 E or S55!!
I have never had an injector problem on a benz. Had an electical one open on a Porsche, nothing to do with gas. I'm sure others out there have seen a lot more injectors than me. And I don't meam contamination from water or other additives. I've seen two CIS distributors internally destroyed by water getting into the tank.
Maybe I'm lucky with gas.I'm a little biased too, I have no clue why injectors could be cleanedby a gas additive. Its already a liquid cleaner.
And, one gas running LOUDER in the same engine than another gas? Wow what did you use to measure that? Ears are highly subjective. So are us opinionated humans. My gas is better than your gas?
