Default G550 OEM 3 Button Key Fob

Slowly but surely, the key fob for my 2012 G550 has be on the decline. Constantly giving me problems and fails to work most of the time. I think I need to give up and get a new one, but would like some advice first. Friends of mine swear by calling auto locksmiths. And then other people have suggested going straight to the nearest Mercedes dealership. Just by doing a quick price comparison, it seems like locksmiths are cheaper. Wanted to get some more opinions before making my decision and listen to what others might've experienced in the past. Thanks!

Well, I may be in the minority here but I had the most pleasant experience dealing with an auto locksmith. Wasn't quite sure where to start so I did a little research online. I came across United Locksmith and just decided to give them a call. They happened to service my area and sent someone out the same afternoon! Very quick and efficient and it only took the guy who helped me 20-30 minutes. I'm not really sure if this is normal procedure or if this person just knew Mercedes fobs better than most. A little bit of both I presume. Anyways, wanted to share my experience and give an update on my situation! Couldn't be happier!
