Fuel Pump problem

I have a 2001 mercedes C320 with about 80k miles on it. My brother was driving it and said he was run off the road and hit a reflector on the side of the freeway. Now when I try to start it turns over but won't start. My boyfriend and brother played around with it and when they sprayed starter fluid into the intake it started. My my boyfriend owns a used car dealership and has a limited mechanic shop. He hooked his scanner to it which he said isn't a complete mercedes scanner and he said as far as he can tell there are no pending codes. The check engine light isn't on. They seem to be pretty sure it's the fuel pump. My boyfriend said that he thinks when my car is in an accident it can shut off the fuel pump and there should be a way for me to reset it??? Can you give my ANY insite into what could be going wrong and how I should fix it?? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

normaly located under the bonnet but maybe in the boot a small black box with a red rubber top on it, looks almost like a relay depress the top and the fuel pump should be re actavated. maybe check for a live feed to the pump ? good luck
