I recently aquired an 85500SEL and it has a problem fouling plugs. I bought it as a no-start and upon lookin it over I found there is a plastic tube on each side of the motor running over the injectors. Now the tube on the passenger side has been broken and I can't tell exactly what these tubes do but I can tell it's a fuel system component and I'm having an issue running rich... So I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what they do? I'm also going about cleaning the egr out, replacing all the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc. Thx for any help

We are on the same boat rowing on down the same stream. She is hard starting and running rich too.I'm a weekend warriorand waiting for the Work and Service Manual CD of 126. Brought to a mechanic and suggested that he needs to change all (15) plastic and rubber tubes including (8) fuel injector O-rings. Please let me know how she perform after your tune up. Remember that eyes have not seen or ears heard nor heart's conceive what in store for those who believe.
