ESP system

RE: ESP system
What does the ESP system do? Is it the same as ASR? If so, I keep my ASR turned off so I would turn the ESP off as well. I don't need no stinkin' computer driving my car for me. Besides, I think ASR can be dangerous.

RE: ESP system
ESP is the more advanced version of ASR. (ESP also includes ASR)
ESP is able to control each individual brakes, where ASR can only control the brakes for drive-wheels.
THe bad part about ESP and ASR is that you can't turn it off 100%.
When you turn it off, it only allows more wheelspin before the system takes over.

RE: ESP system
Thanks.
ESP is like the Active Handling on my Corvette, then. I like that system as long as I remain within the legal perimeter of the laws of physics. It makes me appear to know what I'm doing when my car begins to drift around a corner and I'm not paying attention. I can go faster and harder without it, though.
The Corvette also has Traction Control which is like ASR. I don't like these. The Traction Control on the Corvette can be turned off, though. These I think can be annoying at best and dangerous at worse.
