E300 td big engine issue!!! URGENT
Hello....need to pick some tech's brains please,got a 98 e300 w210 with the 3.0 diesel lump....had a small crack appear around the bolt boss in the timing chain cover where the belt tensioner bolts on ,that has now turned into a huge piece of aluminium removing its self and the belt tensioner falling off with oil cascading every where......i plan to remove the cover and repair /replace but was looking for some removal advice.....does the cover come out without removing the head and sump or what???? just looking for some pointers before i go in blind!!!! any help would be appreciated,thanks J
