I have a 99' E-320 with 46,000 miles on it. I bought it new but we don't drive it much as you can see. I have always changed the oil/filter myself as I do in all of my personal cars. I am planning in changing the break pads out to Hawk SPS pads like I use on my vette. My question is: Is there anything unusual of special about the Mercedes break caliper that will complicate what should be a simple job?

No, you just need 7mm allen to remove the 2 caliper pins
