Default directional vent control is not illuminating

Have an E320 2000 gps and the hash mark on the directional vent control **** is not illuminating . My understanding is that there are two release clips seen through the vents and two screws under the mahogony molding that surrounds the gps. Does anyone know how to get the moulding off?

Default RE: directional vent control is not illuminating

oK SO NO REPLY FROM ANYONE BUT i'M GETTING CLOSE. First you need to remove the black trim surrounding the shift lever console , it just pull straight up..easy,then pull up the mahogony consol complete with window switches and all and put it aside. Now remove the ashtray, you will now see two screw that hold the ash tray housing in place..remove them and remove ashtray housing . Now the two screws that hold the mahogony console surrounding the gps and climate contol become visable ..remove them with a 20 torx screw driver. That's as far asI've gotten,I think I now have to remove the climat control unit then I should expose the two screws that hold the vent in place...I see two slots in the climate control unit and am assuming that I need to release it with a special tool...anyone know??
