Hi

Our UK 2003 ML500 has developed a fault with the electrics. Whenthe headlamp stalk is moved to turn on the headlights we lose all dashboard lighting. This includes the mileometer and clock etc. The Satnav also dims. sometimes the mileometer and clock weakly try to come on but fade away after a few seconds. I firstly tried the fuse, then the relay but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. We called out a Mercedes service truck, the guy tried for about two hours, he took off the clocksbut could not findthe sourceof the fault. I am now in the position where I think I shall have to take it into an electrical specialist butknow this could end up being very costly.

Has anybody had a smilar experience to this? Any help much appreciated asit wouldbe a great help to the engineer who shall have to look at the car.

Should still be under warranty or at least goodwill.
Doesn't the ML have auto ON head lights?
If so what position is the main headlamp switch in since this could be the switch or it could be something a little more challenging. Clock lights auto dimming because it is dark etc.
