Check Engine light

Check Engine light
GLK 2010. Purchased on 8/1/2009. Driven for 4 months. 5000 miles.
Shipped it to Africa last Friday.
Upon arrival, whenever I turn the car on, I see the check engine light on.
The manual states that it may be:
1) Fuel system problem
2) Severe engine problem-
In any case it recommends to get in touch with a Mercedes to have the engine checked.
Since I cannot drive the car yet, due to foreign registration clearance, I was wandering if anyone has ever seen this.
Please advise.
