Simple.
Get the OBD On Board Diagnostic codes read (and recorded) at any garage. Then get garage to reset memory (turns light OFF) which only takes fraction of a second.... Just press a button on the scan tool they use. Some garages do this for free as a way of getting business.
Report back codes and whether the CEL Check Engine Light returns or not shortly after reset.
