Default Cheating by Mercedes Benz - India

Following is the e-mail sent to Service Manager
Mercedes Benz India regarding complaint in C-180
which remains un-attended and un-answered.:
Dear Mr. Ashish Salvi / Vaibhav Advant,

None of the parents find fault with their children, and parents of
Osama Bin Laden would also say so.

You have already given clean chit to your vehicle and to your dealers
at Ahmedabad and Delhi and are now busy enjoying the evening drinks.

You have only learnt the story as given by your Cama Motors, who happen
to be the worst dealers we have ever seen.

We know that you are not going to hear our side of the story and would prefer
to take sides with your dealer only. The following are the facts about service
conditiion of the vehicle :

My son was informed by the service department of Cama some time in Year
early 2002 that they were coming to Jaipur for service check-up.

At that time my son Manuj Goyal had paid approx Rs 15000 in cash and the vehicle
had only 8000 Km on board.

Next. The same story was repeated and we were told that the vehicle be brought
for service check-up.

By that time we were experiencing that the assembly which controls the driver side
glass movement and which controls the side indicators had started giving trouble.

By that time Cama had opened the formal service support arrangement at Jaipur.
The vehicle was sent to them and they had only repaired the defect/or adjusted
the same. (Ultimately we had to replace the same and the original console is with us )

One more service was done at this workshop by taking cash money. That was
in the year 2004 probably.

For the last service we were asked to pay Rs 46000 or so by Sunish or whatever
was the name.

The deal was done for Rupees 22000 and the vehicle was serviced by the same
person who would have attended the vehicle otherwise. (We had written Delhi as
the place of service of the vehicle in our earlier e-mail as we did not want to blame Cama
in the very first instance, thinking that good senses would prevail on the minds of service
personnel at Ahmedabad, and we had to purchase oil and door control console from Delhi)

The collection (booty) was shared probably by the person attending the vehicle and the
manager incharge at Cama service station at Jaipur.

You can send a team of investigators who can varify with our driver as proof that the vehicle
was serviced at Jaipur and it has all new oil and filters. It is running fine, but it is
showing mal-functions. This fact is irritating us as you have put inferior electrical
gadgets and door window control consoles.

The vehicle panel shows of no service record because the same got erased when
the person attending to it from Cama had brought a lap-top to format the new set
of keys.

The service station of Cama could not function well only because the people used to
give extra-ordinary estimates for repairs officially and within 24 hours used to do the
job by taking cash money and not showing the same on records of Cama.

If you wish to give clean chit inspite of our telling the truth about your dealer,
you can jolly-well reward the company by making them distributors for whole
of Asia Pacific, or give them world service rights.

Our vehicle otherwise is in mint condition and can be compared to any vehicle
coming out of the showroom. It has done only 21000 Km in all these years and
it is not kept in any garage. Yet you cannot call it ill-maintained as it is polished
every week alongwith our four other vehicles. It has a resale of Rs 25000 to 50000
more than what you would estimate.

If you give similar reply and defend your dealers whose job is only to rob the
customers by applying all kind of mal-practices, under your shield, the dooms day
for your company is already written.

We were not expecting a moon from your stupid company. We were upset because
the vehicle panel is showing mal-function which can be easily set with the help of
star diagnostic system for a paltry sum by even an ordinary service station.

Cama Motors had demanded all the expenses to send service van from Ahmedabad
to fix the same. This has upset us and should you take pride that this little service cannot
be provided even by writing to your high office then we also don't care and we will
never recommend to purchase your vehicles.

There are lot many companies to sell vehicles to us like Audi, next time.
