Default Center Brake Light not working

The center brake light on my 1998 E240 is not working. The bulb appears fine as I have tested in in sockets with similar bulb requirement. Is theer a fuse associated with the center brake light and if so where is it located. I know there are 3 fuse box locations, under the hood, on the left side of the drivers area and under the rear seat. Any help in diagnosing this problem would be much appreciated. Thanks

Default RE: Center Brake Light not working

The contacts for the center brake lamp are melted. extremely common, 2 pieces. One is in the hatshelf, the other is the stop lamp itself. It has catch tabs that you can squeeze and release, it should slide out and you can inspect it for burning. Sometimes you can file off the contacts and adjust the springs if it is not too bad and it may work
