Hi,

Ihave just purchased a 1994 C180 which has a couuple of problemsthat Iwould appreciate feedback on.
First: Air Conditioner does not work and the centre vents don't seem to work either(the outer vents each end of the dash work OK).
Second: The accelerator pedal is very stiff and has no response until it is depressed at least a third of its travel. The cable seems to be adjusted OK.
Third: An annoying noise just started (cycling on and off)from inside the trunk on the right hand side. Looks to be coming from a compressor ?? Vaccumn unit???.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Third: Sound like you have a vacuum leak in the lock/air-co ducting system. Fix it soon or your pump will burn out from too much use.

First: Sounds like the leak is in the flap control system in the ducting for the air-co. You might get lucky and find the problem in an easy to reach place. If not, you have to pull the whole dash to get to many of the parts. Here is a tutorial on how to do it. You are looking at massive $$$ if you take it to the dealer.
