C180 modification

I own a C180 97'.
As you are aware the 1.8lt engine is just too small for that car. As I cannot afford to buy a newer model (i.e. C200K) I am thinking of ways to boost up the power as well as brakes and handling.
What about getting a C200 or C230 Kompressor engine? What else can I do concerning braking and handling (suspension).
