Hi everyone,

My 2003 C-class 230 has a funny problem. When starting to drive, immediately the "door open" warning goes on for the driver side. The door is not open. It happens every single time, and then turns itself off when pulling to a stop at a light, and then turns itself on as a warning once I get going again.

At the same time, the button to lock the doors on the console and the lock button on the remote key do not lock the driver side door. All other doors lock fine. I am assuming this is because the car thinks the door is open, even though it is shut. I have to lock the door manually. Unlocking works fine.

I've checked the fuses for central locking and convenience locking, replacing one by one with no results.

Any suggestions!

Check all the door buttons under the latch strikers on the b pillars of the car. I'll bet you one is broken.
