Red face Brake problem

My brakes had been squealing for a while so I had the break pads changed by a local mechanic to save a few dollars. After putting on new brakes the instrument cluster NOW reads brake wear...visit workshop? Before the fix there wasn't a message now that the pads are fixed theres a message but now the breaks don't make a peep? Can I reset this anyway? Are the sensors perhaps dirty?
Thanks!

Chances are that they left the brake pad wear sensor out or damaged it. Many aftermarket brake pads are not compatible with oem sensors. I never recommend any aftermarket brake pads on mercedes, they will more than likely warp the rotors and have poor stopping distance.

What kind of brake pads do you recommend? And do they come with sensors? In order to fix my problem and get the light off what do you recommend?

Default Brake pads

I disagree with the previous post stating to only us Mercedes pads. I am very particular about pads and found the Akebono Euro pads superior to the stock pads. Stopping power and feel is about the same, but there is NO DUST, and NO NOISE. The stock pads make an incredible amount of dust!

Yes, I have no idea what I am talking about. I have only replaced hundreds of sets of aftermarket pads with braking issues. Mercedes pads/rotors are specially designed to work together and the pad will wear quicker than the rotors. The pads are soft to allow optimal stopping/grip AND MINIMAL NOISE, i.e. tires are the same way. If there is no brake dust, something has to be wearing and the rotor will be it. What the heck do I know though. I only work on them for a living.
