Hi all

im new to this forum and new to mercedes ownership

i recently bought a mercedes recovery truck pictured below, its a 1996 412d, im sure its 2.8 turbo diesel




my problem is
the foot brake was and still is soft where you would hit the brakes and have to come off the pedal and go back on it again, much like there was air in the line,

we replaced the master servo, the load compansator on the back of the truck to no avail, all the pads shoes etc are bang on, we have replaced the lines as well to eliminate air leaking in

the abs light is on and off and the abs pump sometimes kicks in and you will hear it making a noise and when it does it tends to bind up the rear wheels, if you turn the truck off its fine,

is it the abs pump is the problem or?? at 1400 euro from mercedes its not a cheap fix

any ideas folks????
