I had a strange problem with my 2005 SL500. After leaving the car wash, all of my console lights came on (brake, seatbelt, CS, etc.) came on and flickered a few times as if the car had stalled. I put the car in Park and then had difficulty getting it back to Drive. During the 3 miles back to the house, the console lights came on a few times, but went back off in about 5 seconds. When I got home and turned the car off, the headlights would not go off, even after turning the switch to off. When I tired to start the car, it would not start with the Keyless and Go (sounded like a dead battery)but it started fine when using the key. I have had a couple of other screwy things happen as well.

After a couple of days of sitting, everything is back to normal.

The last time I had the car serviced, there was a part left on the passenger floorboard that has the number 202 540 23 73 on it. I didn't worry too much about it untyil the problems a few days ago. One of the tabs is broken on it, which is probably why is was not put back on. The dealer that worked on it is about 200 miles away so it wopuld be a waster to fight with them.
