Default Bleed Power Steering Pump?

I am replacing the power steering pump on a 1997 C230. Can someone tell me how to bleed the pump?

Sleepwalker, maybe I should say flush out the system after I install the rebuilt power steering pump.

just refill it.

no need for flushing. there's a recirculation strainer to stop larger foreign bodies that nay damage the O-rings or piston.

Hey Sleepwalker, I got the rebuilt power steering pump (LUK). It came without the top tank or the 2 mounting brackets. So I had to switch some parts. Everything went together real good. I did flush the system by leaving off the return line. The stuff that came out was kinda dirty looking. Then I jacked up the front end to get the wheels off the ground and turned the steering both ways several times with the engine running. This seemed to get the air out of the system. Everything works fine (no leaks). Here's a little tip. I drew a diagram of how the engine belt goes so I could put it back on.
