Hi, just joined the MercedesForum and am concerned that the Battery Charging warning light came on 10 miles into my 40 mile ride home tonight. I have a '98 E320 with 200k miles. I made it home with no problems and checked under the hood while it was still running thinking my alternator belt had failed. Everything seemed ok. Any opinions or advise would be appreciated.

 

Dear, I had the same prob in My 97 E320, there is problem in ur alternator, that is, it is not charging the battery properly. Go to a reliable electrician, if it is reparable he will repair it otherwise u have to change the alternator as I did it today. Keep ur engine away from water....
