Default ATF OIL TYPE & e 320 safety issue!!

Hi, I have an 2001 e 320 wagon. I bought the dipstick tool that checks the automatic transmissinon. I know the dealer says it is "sealed" and should never have to add. If i do have to add atf oil, is it regular dexron oil or do i have to buy it from the dealer? Any recomendations of brand?
Second a very important safety issue....
The rear door swung open while driving because it wasn't closed properly! Can it be possible that here is no DOOR OPEN WARNING? The manual shows no light on the dash. the interior lights do light up if a door is open, but that may not be noticed on a sunny day. This can be a real danger with my kids. there also is no audible warning. I have had older MB'S that have had audible warnings and dash light warnings. Is something wrong with mine or are all 2001 e 320's have no warning? If any one has a e 320 and can check it would be greatly apreciated. I can't afford to go to the dealer to ask.
Thank you in advance......
vero
PS... it is a usa car not greymarket

HEY VERO...WELCOME TO THE CLUB. MY 99 E320 HAS NO LIGHTS IN THE DASH NOR AN AUDIBLE WARNING. SORRY...ONLY THE INTERIOR LIGHTS UP BUT YES, IT WOULD BE A PROBLEM ON A SUNNY DAY. HAVE YOU TRIED THE CHILD LOCK? (MINES THE SEDAN)
