Default air mass meter replaced

HI

I just replaced my Air mass meter on my 01 CLK 320, but the check engine is still on. Does it have to be reset?

If so would disconnecting and reconnecting the battery do this.

thanks

yes, it would but leave it of for a while. What trouble code did you have and what was the symptom?

Default Symptom Air mass meter replaced

Quick test results

ME 2.8 (MOTOR ELECTRONICS)

STORED FAULTS
01 > P2085-001 Self-adaptation of mixture formation for left bank of cylinders is at limit value (at part load) :enrichment over permissible limit (p0174)

02 > P2016-001 Self-adaptation of mixture formation for right bank of cylinders is at limit value (at part load) :enrichment over permissible limit (p0171)

Symptoms
I notice that my gas milage is lower. The reading on the dash says its getting 19 to 18 GPM. Also now that I replaced the Air mass meter. I notice that it hesitates on acceleration. Also if I drive it in automatic mode I feel it does not change gears at the right time.

Those are the symptoms I have noticed.

Thank you for any information you can provide.

alot of the time there is a vacuum leak someplace or a vacuum hose came off. check all that first before spending money. if you just drive it for a couple days it will go away or after a set amount of drive cycles if the problem doesnt exist the light will go out. or can clear it with a code scanner.

I had a p0171 code and I replaced both 02 sensors upstream remove battery cable to reset check engine light, it went of but after driving 8.7 miles the ck engine light came back on. I had it check again to see if I had a new code only to find that I still had a p0171 code. Help
