Air Conditioning problem 96 S600
My Air Conditioning has an odd problem. When you start the car the red economy light is on and it will not turn off. I thought it was low on refrigerant but that was not the problem. It must be a sensor somewhere. To use my air conditioning I must turn the key on and off and usually on the second turn I can get the red light to go out and the air works fine. Any ideas?
MB told me there was a pressure sensor. The red ec light is supposed to go on only when refrigerant is low, ergo it should be that pressure sensor. I've got my own problems with the flapper valves on my 300TD circa 99. Got a few friends and made calls as car was being delivered by my son and that's what MB told me. Guess the guy that sold it let out the freon so I wouldn't see the hot air on the passenger and mid console nozzles blowing hot air. The center is now ok -- but hey, I hate when things don't work properly. Good luck and let me know if you've got any ideas for me. Rick
