Default ABS brakes

Hi all,
I am trying to track down a problem in my ABS. Symptoms are a pulsing brake pedal at stop signs.a lit 4matic function indicator at idle[intermittently] and an intermittent ABS warning light.
I've replaced the steering angle sensor and the rear axle speed sensor based on codes read from the x11/4? module with no changes as a result.
No codes are stored at this time, though I do not have the code reader for the ABS.
Anyone have an idea where to go next? I'm considering an OVP relay or an ABS relay.
Thanks,
Bill 1991 300TE 4MATIC

Sorry I forgot to mention I also replaced my battery and my alternator is charging at 13.8 volts.
The warning lights for brake and battery will also illuminate briefly and faintly occasionally
Bill

Default RE: ABS brakes

update the problem was the alternator.A post about alternators delivering AC voltage as they age led me to test for AC and I got 30 volts AC!!
Took alternator to auto electric shop and they replaced the stator[diodes were fine} now I get 14 volts DC and 0 volts AC and no more ABS or other problems so far.DC charging is not an adequate test of the alternator, check for AC voltage Bill
