Does anyone know if its possible to get the serial number from the top of the engine ignition module (bosch). My module failed (a common problem on this model i believe) and i left the car in to a dodgy local auto spark and the brain was sent off for repair. When it was returned (unrepaired) the serial number had beed snapped off!!! and the spark denied all knowledge. I have since sent it off to several other repair specialists and they all say that it can be repaired but they need this number. M.B. main dealer hasn't been helpfull at all, they of course want to charge me £1600 / $3000 + labour to repair this and i just can't justify this especially as it will only cost £400 for the module from a repair specialist. IF ANYONE CAN HELP, I'LL HAVE THEIR BABIES!!! IM AT MY WITS END WITH THIS AND MY LOVELY CAR HAS BEEN OFF THE ROAD FOR A YEAR NOW!!!
