Default 93 or 94 model

I bought a S600 in Florida 'USA' a couple of years ago , the title says its a 1993 S600 I later found out that the S600 didnt start till 1994 . The tag on the car says it was built June, 1993 but the badge on the back says S600 . The car was brought over in 2002 as a grey model so im wondering if it was a typo error on the paper work or if someone changed the badge . I asked the local MB dealer about it and they said that they did not know because it was not brought into the USA by MB . My question is didMB sell the 94 models as early as june 93 ? or is it realy a 93 SEL...Thanks Dave...

Could be a 1993 600SEL. Which I what I have, and also isa grey market car I imported through Florida. The VIN number is the real info. I debadged my 600SEL from rear trunk markings, but the VIN number under the hood and the VIN/body numbers on floor under carpet flap behind passenger front seat tells all anyone would want to know about the car. After research, I confirmed my car really was a 600SEL, regardless what the German and USA title paperwork state(both which happens to also state 600SEL).
I did identify my model of 600SEL has rear bucket seats which requiredamod to factory line work in Stuttgart.
Suggest if you have not already done so, replace the engine wiring harnesses soon, as once the electrical shorting starts on all of theseyear cars, it wrecks havoc all across the electrical system and computer modules. Other common v12 issues of this era,Throttle Body assembly failures, water pump and idler pulley, "mono-valves for front and rear heat/AC, and heater hoses in back of engine accessible via a special compartment door. Best luck with your prized car.

Thanks Wmercer for the quick reply , I gave the local dealership the vin# and they still could not say for shure , I saw a car 4sale and in one of the pictures it showed the vin tag on the driver door jam and it was built june 92 and they had it listed as a 93 model . Here in the US they start selling the next year cars as early as September the previous year I was wondering what month they start in Germany and yes I am already starting to have a ASR limp mode problem ather then that the car is awsome...Thanks again..
