Default 92 SL300 Passenger Seat Switch not working+Hard top stand and cover search begins....

Hi All,

I am new to the forum and brought here by my recent purchase of a 92 SL300 AMG.
It took me a while to find and when I did, itwould have been stupid to havelet it go, even if the passenger seat switch didnt work.
I was aware of the faulty seat switch but the guy selling it to me assured me it would be relatively easy to fix. I have no idea where to start but by looking at the black gunk surrounding the casing, someone has already had a go......and failed!
Can anyone help in terms of getting started, or even where to find reasonably priced replacement?

Also.............I am trying to locate a reasonably priced priced stand and cover for the hard top, there was a sale on ebay for both at 52GBP a few hours ago but missed out!!

Many thanks for your help and hope to return the knowledge share going forward.

Cheers,
Z

I had a 1996 600SL. Almost the same thing. I would recommend with this power seat failure is to find a good independant shop and have them look at it. DO NOT GO TO A DEALER!!

Chers C280 Sport!! I would have to agree with you there, everythnig esle I have spoken to them about starts with 300 pounds+plus whatever needs to be fixed!!! I am going to hunt around and will keep the forum posted of any findings. Its annoying as the seat is in an odd position and ruins my SL fung shui or whatever its called.....
