I have an 87 260e and the srs light is on in my dash. What does it mean? What is srs? Anyone?

 

It means you need to take your car to the dealer ASAP and find out why, this is a safety issue and I wouldn't hesitate to go to a dealer and have it fixes.

I agree that you should take it to the car hospital but check this first. Make sure the passenger seat back is all the way back and locked so it can't tilt forward. You don't have a bunch of stuff behind the passenger seat that's pushing against it, do you?

Mine lights a dash warning light when the seat back is not locked because the seat belts won't work as designed when it's unlocked. Also, getting hit by the airbag in a fender bender accident without properly working seat belts can hurt real bad.
