Hey I have an '86 300e that needs alot of work but doesn't have a dent on it and the engine and trans are perfect. I came across 2 (92 300e 2.6 no engine, and 93 400e wrecked) mercedes and was wondering how hard would it be to put my 3.0 in a 92 2.6 car and put my good body panels on the 400. I know I could do the latter but would swapping a 3.0 into a 2.6 car but be more work than it's work but I'll be stuck with both cars so I need to do something with it. Basically trying to make 2 good cars out of three not so good cars. I guess the guy that has them was planning on just swapping the panels from the 92 onto the 93.

 

the biggest issue will be the mounting and connection to the tranny...if it mounts to the trannys, and uses the same motor mounts...there should not be any needed alterations to the driveshaft.
