300SD ball joints

300SD ball joints
Is there anything unique about the ball joints on a 300SD? I just got a quote of $400 for replacement and alignment from an independent shop specializing in MB here in Raleigh, NC....seems a bit high to me. Any reason a reasonably capable DIYer can't do it himself?
