300E 124 SERIES Differential mountings
Greetings
The view of this car's differential (with it on a service lift) shows two round mountings that are steel/rubber bushes that are pressed into the rear cross member. Hex head capscrews pass through these directly into the diff' main body and take its weight and cushion torque flexing.
Can anyone please tell me if any special tools (pushers and pullers)are needed to remove and replace these mountings. It looks and seems simple enough but one cannot get good hitting access to them---even if the diff is loosened and hangs down a few inches.
Any tips on how someone has made this job easy will be very much appreciated.
Does one need a special anchoring tool to prevent the mounting centre from twisting clockwise during the re-tightening final action?.
thankyou very much
