Default 300D turn siignal and climate control problems

I just bought an '85 300D (2 days ago) and my turn signals don't work and neither does my climate control. They both worked fine two days ago. The climate control tried top work for a bit yesterday but put out very little air and mostly it was nothing at all. There was a weak buzzing sound when I tried using the turn signals but no actual signal.

I don't think fuses are the problem (I checked this for the turn signals). I understand the flashers switch can screw with the turn signals, so I'll check into that.

If anyone has any suggestions for either of these problems, I'd really appreciate them!

I'm new to Mercedes and I want to get to know everything about this car.

I also posted what is pretty much the same message in the new users area, so sorry if this is a bit redundant.

Thanks in advance!!

Well I figured out the turn signals - the E flasher switch was in the 'on' position. It seems I pressed it yesterday when I was looking for the button that would allow the people in the back seat to control their windows. So my hazard lights don't work but my turn signals do.

I still don't know about the climate control. I do know that the A/C wasn't working when I bought the car.

I'll bet the blower motor is worn out.

Here's a simple test: Remove the cover underneath the dash. At the very bottom is the blower motor. Use a flashlight, and look on the very bottom of the motor for the shaft. Turn your defrost on, then while it's trying to run. push up on the blower shaft with your finger. If the motor starts and runs, it will prove that the motor is bad. The brushes wear out, then the commutator bars taper down on the motor armature. It's a wate of time trying to fix it-get a new motor and install it. Takes about 1/2 hr.
