I have an 300d 1977 engine , tranny and the rest is rust. and I was trying to get info on wich models use the same engine and tranny. For example:
In my area there is a 420sel with a blown engine (w126 I think ) that model came also with a 300 turbo diesel, could I install my engine in it? Bolt on installation?
Or do I have to stick with a w123 body?
Any help will be appreciated.

 

Don't know about the tranny, but the 5-cylinder 3-liters diesel were made in 77-85.
