300 D won't shut off

I have a 300 D and resently when turn the key into the off position the car won't shut off i have to go under the hood and push a lever down in the center of engine for the car to shut off. need help WHY!!!!

It's probably a vacuum issue, but check the diesel forum. This topic has been covered for several models

Very likely a vacumme hose has become disconected near your oil filter can. This used to happen to me a lot; usually with I changed the oil and filter and knocked one of those vacumme lines loose.
