I had to remove an instrument cluster out of my mbz to replace dash board light dimmer. When I was trying to put everything back together i've noticed that i have nowhere to connect oil pressure red wire. I have about 5" long red wire which sticks out of this cluster. End of this wire looks like it was soldered to something. I was looking everywhere inside dash board and couldn't find enething to coonect this wire to. Please help..... Mike

I am looking at my old 1989 300E cluster (out of the car)and thereare no wires hanging out the back end. You must have pulled it off something inside the dash like your post implies. Check your bundled wire connections or maybe some relay?

 

I do not have an asnswer to your question but I have a 1990 300 CE. Can you tel me how you got the instrument cluster out. I need to pul mine out But I do not know how.
