I have a 1983 240D. When you put the key into the ignitionand turn to the second position the glow plug relay box makes a loud vibrating noise. I replaced the relay box but the same sound and behavior happens with the new part. The car wont start at all. The starter doesnt even budge. I think its an electrical short problem, but Im not sure. PLease Help.

 

<FONT size=3>have you tried starting with jump leads (booster cables) cables from another cars battery to yours, not sure what they are called in other countries, as it could be flat battery with a little bit of power left that is making the relay make a noise.</FONT>
