My wife recently pulled into a parking spot, came to a full stop, and when she went to shift into Park her SLK350 jumped the curb crossed the lawn, through the bushes and into the building wall! When she then looked down, the shifter was in Neutral. What happened during the event I can't say, but I have an extremely hard time imagining her initiating this event by trying to shift into Park with her foot on the accelerator.

This 2005, by the way, only has 20,000 miles on it, is (was) in perfect condition and has only been driven to the gym and the supermarket locally. It has only seen the MB service center for regular/infrequent oil changes.

Before we just lie down like sheep and accept "fault" for this accident as the insurance company has informed us, I just want to put this call out to see if there is any other known instances of SLK350's running away from their little old lady drivers due to some system malfunction.
