Default 2002 C240 and adding radar detector

Before I buy an Escort 8500 X50 radar detector AND the Direct Wire Smart Cord, I would like to be sure that the Direct Wire Smart Cord can be connected to my specific car’s electrical system. My car is a 2002 Mercedes Benz C240. The Direct Wire Smart Cord avoids the need to use the cigarette lighter socket, which given it's location on my car, is not what I want to do.

Any suggestions as to how I can confirm this will work with my car? It has 2 wires I need to connect - a ground wire and a power wire. It includes a snap-on piece which splices into the power source wire and provides a connection for the radar detector's power wire. The ground wire will not be a problem, but I am not sure which 'hot' wire to use - it should be a wire which is only on when the car is running (no power when car is turned off). Is there a good, free wiring diagram available somewhere?

Thanks!

Thanks. However, I do not see anything labeled "ff" in the image?
